Resurrection concept:Crucifixion Of Jesus Christ Cross At Sunset

It’s amazing how many Christians, still speak and act as though Jesus is not enough for us. So many Christians still say, ‘I hope when I die that I have done enough’, or ‘I hope I will go to heaven one day’ or when you ask them about eternal life and sharing eternity with Jesus, they would say, ‘well, I think I am a good person and I hope the good I have done will be enough’. Added to this, we so easily fall into the trap of pursuing happiness, peace, joy and fulfilment, rather than pursuing Jesus in Whom is real joy, lasting peace and eternal hope.

We don’t need to add anything to Jesus. When we have Jesus, the Son of God, we have complete salvation, absolute forgiveness, unconditional love and acceptance, lasting peace that passes all understanding, eternal joy that no one can take away, and a certain hope that nothing can destroy. We don’t need to earn it or deserve it, because it is all found in Jesus, for all those who have accepted Jesus into their lives as Lord and Savior.

Jesus meets our every need and He does satisfy the longings and desires of every heart. The Bible tells us and assures us, over and over, that Jesus is enough for us. Here are just some of these assurances that the Bible gives us: ‘Therefore Jesus is able to save completely those who come to God through Him…’ (Hebrews 7:25); ‘but He (Jesus), having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God…’ (Hebrews 10:12); ‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’ (1 John 1:9); ‘Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’ (John 6:35); ‘I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.’ (John 15:11); ‘And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ (Philippians 4:7); ‘But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
‘(Romans 5:8)

There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus is enough for me, and He surely is enough for you. Find your rest this Christmas season in the knowledge that Jesus is enough for you. When you have Jesus, you have everything you need; without Jesus you always be missing something in your life. Affirm again and again, through the verses I have given you today, and indeed with many other verses from the Bible, that Jesus is enough for you. Pursue Jesus, the author and perfector of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and find in Him the peace, the joy, the hope, the love that you seek this season.

Bless you all,
